Good morning! How are we faithing? Computer crashed yesterday. Bummer. I've been distracted as of late by many things. I sometimes wonder what the heck is happening in the world. Of course the Word tells me but even still it is hard to imagine evil so rampant. The things going on make my head hurt. It isn't surprising when one reads the Word that we see the exact things predicted transpiring but it still begs the question, why? Why would anyone even consider the crimes and things done to another human being as ok? Man o man we indeed are living in perilous times. I suppose it's not much worse than what Jesus lived through so as I watch, hear or read about all the things falling apart in the world I do rest on the fact that God has all this and in the end it will all be revealed. What you bet we all say "ahh"? Let me instill a little confidence from the Word.
Luk 22:25-30
And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors. But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve. For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth. Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations. And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me; That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
Jesus served. Jesus endured even more than we do and yet he still had peace and grace. He tore the fabric of the thought process of men to shreds by teaching by example that serving is greater in the long run than being served. He gave love and healing out of love. He lived in a way that flew in the face of contemporary views. Slow down this week and don't take on things you can't control. Live in peace by handling what you can and give all the rest to God, you will sleep better....
Heavenly Father,
Firgive our sins we beg for they are many. Let us see with your eyes. Let us be wise in all we do. Let us seek your face this day. Reveal yourself in ways we can't deny. Load us up with your Holy Spirit! In Jesus name, amen
