daily prayer

Good morning! How are we faithing? I heard an analogy recently that struck a cord. "It's better to have a rich baker father than a warehouse full of loafs." Interesting no? We like to store up "riches" as it were. We tend to think if we are rich enough or have enough we don't need to ask God anymore for help. We tend to think that now we are comfortable, why bug God.  Wow is that a distortion of truth. It's also a place in this country many people get to. It's not at all surprising that we get to a point we are comfortable and forget how we got there. People, make yourself thank God for everything every day. Stay hooked up to God in the good times not just in want. Be careful not to forget God after overcoming something. Paul talked about knowing God in want and in plenty and the point he is making is not lost on us if we stay hooked up by scripture, prayer and work. We ought to be in the scriptures as often as possible. We ought to be praying all the time and not just for ourselves. We ought to be going to our jobs with an attitude of,"who can I help today?" I'm not picking or pointing fingers but rather warning of how complacency can sneak in when we forget.

Pro 30:7-9
Two things have I required of thee; deny me them not before I die: Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me:  Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain.

remember John and his Mom...

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for what you have done. Thank you for what you are going to do. Remind us when we get complacent or to comfortable that without you, we are lost. Teach us to see with your eyes. Grant us wisdom and a compassionate heart and a desire to serve for your glory. In Jesus name, amen
