Good morning! How are we faithing? I keep discovering things that while fascinating I'm not real sure what to think about them. I'm sure you've done this same thing upon finding out something new to you. I've been looking into Islam because of all the hubbub in the press and we know the presses track record on distorting truth. The things I've discovered go right along with Reagan's "trust but verify" statement and my mantra of looking things up for myself. To many times I've stepped in it because of a lack of complete understanding. This method is also true in studying the Word. Jesus did not pull punches but he was wise as to which punch to throw. Jesus is Messiah and is God or else he was insane. He told us who he was and he was not simply a prophet. While researching how things got twisted I see the same things being repeated over and over. It reminds me of the proverbs that tells us to shut up.
Pro 15:2
The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.
Pro 15:2
The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.
Pro 17:28
Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.
Old wives tales, traditions, culture and so on all drive or rather steer the direction of beliefs and we as redeemed people through Jesus the Christ need to be real careful what we spew around. Truth is always best and silence sometimes is wise.
Pro 26:12
Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him.
Rom 12:16
Being of one mind one towards another. Not minding high things, but consenting to the humble. Be not wise in your own conceits.
Just ponder these things today...

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your Word that is always wise and correct. Help us not be conceited or haughty. Always show us where we can be wonderful witnesses for you. Bless the leaders of our nation. Reveal truth to them. Restore this nation to a God fearing society once again. Wake us up to truth around us and grant is courage and wisdom to stand firm in our faith in you. In Jesus name, amen
