daily prayer

Good morning! How are we faithing? When one is taught certain ways as truths from youth to adulthood it becomes very very hard to be dissuaded to another view. The Jews in charge of the synagogue that Jesus attended I'm sure had trouble with his claim of fulfilling scripture and the claim,"If you've seen me, you've seen the Father." When Jesus taught faith instead of law was the path to salvation those leaders went nuts. "How is this possible? Yer Joesph's son, I saw your nose run as a kid" were probably the kinds of things they were thinking. Jesus was a carpenters son and probably whacked his thumb with a hammer once or twice and yelled "yeow!" and that flew in the face of what the scribes and pharacies notion of the son of God. They missed the whole idea of God assuming manhood to atone for us. They missed that love was greater than law and as such a loving God put himself in a condition to save mankind. The laws of this universe were set at creation and if God is God, he can't break these laws so he had to come within the law to save us from judgement of the law. Was troubling for the leadership of the time I'm sure but if they had been in the Scripture rather than upholding the ink they would have seen truth.

Rom 9:30-33
What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith.  But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.  Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone; As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Jer 16:19-21
O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit.  Shall a man make gods unto himself, and they are no gods?  Therefore, behold, I will this once cause them to know, I will cause them to know mine hand and my might; and they shall know that my name is The LORD.

We are at that defining time in our lives and in history that we either believe or we don't. I pray and feel for those who don't but it isn't mine to carry. I must be the saviors ambassador and follow his ways which include loving those who hate me, preaching by action and sometimes words and always remaining faithful in Jesus no matter what befalls me. What truths do you hold?

Heavenly Father,
We ask you for wisdom. Wisdom to see truth. Wisdom to know truth and compassion to share truth. We praise your holy name Lord for without it we would all perish. We thank you for your Word that replenishes us in times of woe and times of glee. We ask for safety for our emergency workers and ask you reveal yourself to our leaders. Grant us divine insight in our everyday lives and professions that we see what is necessary. Thank you for everything in Jesus name, amen
