Good morning! How are we faithing? As 2019 begins we must make it a point to embrace the new year with a renewed fervor for holy living and abiding in the Lord. We have spoke in the past of the walk in Christ we have chosen and we all tend to let experiences cloud our faith in what the Word tells us. Our inward man should be renewed every day by taking in the Word whether by radio, reading, watching videos, however you can take the Word in. The Word also tells us to pray without ceasing which simply is communing with God. As this year unfolds I advise you to pay attention to the Word more intently because the Word actually says we perish for lack of knowledge. Lack of knowledge isn't referring to collegiate type of knowledge but what the Word teaches. Make a point to take in the Word as often as possible. Start today reading a verse or two and soon the habit is formed. Switch your music off for a time or two and listen to some preaching. There are tons of places to find solid Word preaching/teaching. Make a point to "abide" which means to stay, dwell, endure, be present, tary with the Lord.
Joh 15:5-7
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your Word that is the only truth in this world that matters. Take my life and use it Lord. Open our eyes to what is real and what is folly. We ask for wisdom this year and a renewed focus on your Word. in Jesus name, amen
