Good morning! How are we faithing? Job is an interesting study. Here's a guy who is on top of everything and loses everything. Now he is suffering with boils from the sole of his feet to the top of his head and he still praises God, well at least he maintained his integrity and refused to curse God. Read Job 2:1-10.
What I find so compelling about this man is he recognizes that no matter what happens, God is God and he is a man serving God. This age we live in has many pitfalls so I want to encourage you not to be selfish or give one iota for your own life. Not to say your or my life is meaningless but to realize that a life being but a vapor ought not be obsessed with it's woes to the point of living miserably. Our noggin can really mess with us when we become selfish and the enemy being one who is prowling around looking for an opportunity to step in and feed selfishness to the point one would consider all sorts of evil things. We are called by God and have accepted his gift of pardon so if we need a savior, how can we be so self centered? How can we whine and moan over a parking space, or more month than money or sick even unto death? This world is trying to convince us that we have a right to, (name it), and if we don't, the blame lies on others. Job didn't blame, he trusted. Be like Job. Trust in your salvation and look at others needs before your own. Don't fall for the enemy and his minion trying to get you to blame God. Dwell on this today.
Rom 13:11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
Rom 13:12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
Rom 13:13 Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for salvation. Thank you for what I have. Thank you that your Holy Spirit abides in us. Help us not get down when we face trials. Help us be courageous and walking with your Word on our tongues. Help us never to be selfish and think more of ourselves than what you say we are. We are your sons and daughters and no man can break that bond...come what may. We praise you today Lord, in Jesus name we pray
