daily prayer

    Good morning! How are we faithing? Lets try something new. Lets concentrate on a book, James. This will take awhile but for those of you who have been reading this daily for the last decade plus, you should be ready.
   Temptations come at all of us. Many are the same for all of us and some are unique to particular personalities. The thing to remember is Jesus already whooped them and we can too. In all actuality, when you are tempted and resist with prayer, sometimes fasting, sometimes rebuking, you experience victory and it becomes less tempting next time. This I can relate to when I quit smoking. When something becomes less tempting and eventually not tempting at all, you have graduated in that area and patience has been learned....and you didn't even know it. These verses below describes it better than I can so;

Jas 1:2-4
  My brothers, count it all joy when you fall into different kinds of temptations,
 knowing that the trying of your faith works patience.
  But let patience have its perfect work, so that you may be perfect and entire, lacking nothing.

So today when you are tempted by something and you resist, rejoice and praise the Lord! Next time resistance gets a little easier. Look around that temptation to that light of victory and remind yourself you will get there. I find that reminding myself that a journey takes the first step and my savior already won.

Heavenly Father,
  Thank you for your peace. Thank you for your Word that shows us wisdom and patience. Help us be vigilant and aware of temptation. Let your Holy Spirit engulf us. In Jesus name, amen
