daily prayer

Good morning! How are we faithing this fine winter day? Lets talk about why humans are always searching and what we're searching for. We all have our own pain and are searching for relief. We all are guilty of some sort of sin and we know it. Mankind has tried everything in search of relief. Booze, drugs, prescriptions, hobbies, jobs, religion, community service, promiscuity, a better lawn, a faster car. Some even think they are doing a service for God and they may be but just because we take on religion and are at the door every time it's open doesn't mean we're any closer to God than the guy living under the bridge. It's very interesting how the enemy can twist our focus from Jesus unto appearing holy. We have an inherent disposition to please whatever we use to relieve pain and guilt. Paul the apostle was well aware of this and said many things that remind us of this position and uses "shadows" to explain what we all chase. If you have tried all of the aforementioned things and they are at a dead end, Jesus has no end. When you get to that point of "all seems futile", that is the time when you have to rearrange your priorities and look at where you really are in your soul. Many times we simply forget that our salvation has made us a new creature but the body hasn't realized it yet or is so habitual in it's thought process and muscle memory that it hasn't quite varied it's learned responses. To be continued....

Heb 4:12-16
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
Jesus the Great High Priest Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Heavenly Father,
We praise you Lord! We thank you Lord and ask for clarity in our lives. Help us to deal with whatever issues we face. Help us not be afraid of what we need to deal with in our lives. We ask for the wisdom to face ourselves and the courage to break away from our past and the pain we try to hide from and the guilt because of it. Help the renewing of our minds be evident today as we press on...in Jesus name, amen
