Good morning! How are we faithing? If the Spirit of God dwells in us then darkness cannot be in us because light drives darkness away so why do we still sin? Lets break this down to the simplest form. We live in a fallen body. Original sin opened up the knowledge of good and evil. The tempter uses all sorts of distortions to entice us. Where God made something good, satan will twist and turn it till it isn't worth a hoot anymore. Think of all the innocent things that have become fetishes and have been turned to lust and greed and all the other sins. Lusting for more and more money and for what? More indulgences. When we listen to Solomon, David, Paul etc. they all say the same things. They all are really ticked that the things they know they shouldn't do, they do. The things they should do, they don't. Why is that? The flesh. Read the patriarchs books. Read Pauls letters. Take notice of the struggles they had and how we struggle the same. Satan and his minion are not super powerful, they just know flesh. But the cool thing is redemption. Redemption through Jesus Christ. Look here;
Rom 8:1-7
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. But the Law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.
For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh; so that the righteousness of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For they who are according to the flesh mind the things of flesh, but they who are according to the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace because the carnal mind is enmity against God, for it is not subject to the Law of God, neither indeed can it be.
Heavenly Father,
We praise and thank you Lord for redemption. Open our eyes to your Word. Help us understand the battle we face every day. Help us to see when we head down a path of sin. Teach us to be forgiving and humble. We want others to see you in us Lord. in Jesus name, amen
